“Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority is to complete all 14 water supply projects of over PKR 4 billion in 36 districts of Punjab by 31 Dec 2021, which will benefit over 7.6 million people with the provision of high-quality water that meets WHO drinking water standards. In addition, the Authority is developing water supply infrastructure in all the brackish areas of Punjab in 7 districts where 177 water supply boreholes (sources) have already been completed. Together with these 177 projects and additional 525 filtration plants next year, the Authority targets to provide improved access of good quality drinking water to about 15 million least privileged people, which will result in improved health and productivity of people and significantly reduce their medical expenses on water-borne diseases.”

  • Under the patronage of Governor Punjab Mohammad Sarwar, Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority is working expeditiously for the provisions of safe drinking water to about 70 million population in 36 districts of Punjab.
  • The first filtration plant has been set up in Chak Jhumra that will provide uninterrupted supply of potable water to 57K people for 20 years.

Multan Division

Multan Division

Work Awarded to M/s KSB Pumps Co Ltd for the

Project “Supply, Construction, Installation and O&M of Water Filtration Plants in Multan Division”. 

The Punjab Aab-E-Pak Authority (PAPA) intends to install Pre-filtration & Reverse Osmosis
Water Treatment Plants in different areas of Multan Division. For Water Treatment Plants, raw water will be supplied from bore hole pump to the Water Treatment Plant. Where the water will be treated in accordance with the water quality. The treated water will then be pumped up to each low-level reservoir (LLR) at the Markaz e Aab centers. The Contract includes a minimum of One (01) year operation and maintenance (O&M) period extendable by
mutual agreement with the Contractor.

Sahiwal Division

Sahiwal Division

Punjab Aab e Pak launched its 5th project in Sahiwal division. The project is aimed to provide safe drinking water to more than half million rural population with 113 dispensation units (Marakaz-e-Aab) in three districts of Sahiwal Division. The ground breaking ceremony took place in Tehsil Arifwala of District Pakpattan in presence of locally elected members, village community and higher management of Aab e Pak Authority.

  1. WATER SUPPLY PROJECT AWARDED FOR DG KHAN DIVISION TO BENEFIT ABOUT 525,000 PEOPLE

On 18 May 2021, the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority (PAPA) awarded a contract of Rs.287.3 million for the construction of 105 water filtration plants (66 Pre-filtration, and 39 RO Plants) and associated infrastructure in the DG Khan Division for its four districts including DG Khan (70), Rajanpur (10), Layyah (9), and Muzaffarabad (16). The Project will provide safe drinking water to an estimated population of about 525,000 people. The contract includes one year operation and maintenance service extendable by mutual agreement with the contractor. The contract is expected to be completed by end-December 2021.

  1. SUPPLY, CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION & O&M OF FILTRATION PLANTS AND UF HAND PUMPS IN TRIBAL AREA OF DG KHAN & RAJANPUR

On 7 June 2021, PAPA awarded a contract of Rs.208.5 million for the construction of 81 Markaz-e-Aab in DG Khan (50) and Rajanpur (31) districts which include 19 RO Plants, 31 UF Hand Pumps, and 31 Pre-filtration plants and associated infrastructure. The Project will provide safe drinking water to an estimated population of about 405,000 people. The contract includes one year operation and maintenance service extendable by mutual agreement with the contractor. The contract is expected to be completed by end-December 2021.

Gujranwala Division

Gujranwala Division

1. Direct Supply in Gujranwala Sargodha

Financial Bids for the Project “Supply, Construction, Installation and O&M of Direct Supply in Gujranwala and Sargodha Division” opened on June 18, 2021 and the Tender Evaluation Report uploaded on PPRA’s Website as well as the website of Authority on June 19, 2021. Work will be awarded after the exhaustion of Grievance Period.

2. WATER SUPPLY PROJECT AWARDED FOR GUJRANWALA & SARGODHA DIVISIONS

On 7 June 2021, the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority (PAPA) awarded a contract of Rs.548.3 million for the construction of 139 water filtration plants (31 Pre-filtration, and 108 RO Plants) and associated infrastructure in Gujranwala and Sargogha. The districts include Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahaudin, Sialkot, Bhakar, Khushab, Mianwali and Sargodha. The Project will provide safe drinking water to an estimated population of about 695,000 people. The contract includes one year operation and maintenance service extendable by mutual agreement with the contractor. The contract is expected to be completed by end-December 2021.

Award of another contract for 116 pre-treatment plants in the above districts is planned by 30 June 2021.

Faisalabad Division

Faisalabad Division

Punjab Aab e Pak has launched its 2nd Project in Faisalabad Division following the earlier project in Chak Jhumra. The second project of Rs. 419.6 million will benefit approximately 690,000 rural population through dispensing safe drinking water at 138 Marakaz-e-Aab in four districts of Faisalabad Division including Faisalabad (95), Chiniot (9), TT Singh (22), and Jhang (12).

The ground breaking ceremony was held in village 583 GB, 629, 630, 631, 629, 353, 381 of Tehsil Jaranwala in District Faisalabad. The event was cherished by locally elected members, village community and higher management of Aab e Pak Authority.
